Inspired by the hues of red and black from the Mauna Loa volcanic eruption in 2022 the lava series is a representation of passion, love, and anger.

This series is a reminder to do whatever you do in life with passion. Whether it’s to create, to live, to love someone deeply, to take risks, and to not be afraid. To live in the moment of things and to experience the joy and warmth of knowing you are loved. It’s also a representation of anger and sadness when these emotions are too overwhelming sometimes. To not have those feelings reciprocated back and to have feelings of a crushed spirit. These feelings go hand in hand for you to grow and pick yourself up to start all over again and that process in itself is hurtful but beautiful.

Completed on a 40x20cm plywood, this piece mainly consists of Dark Crimson, burgundy, black, and blood-red hues with hints of Gold leaf.
